A man was arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 38-year-old Tucson man, police said.

Samuel Beltran, 29, is accused of killing Roger Catalan shortly after 11 p.m. Oct. 7 during a gathering and fight outside a house in the 1200 block of West Ontario Street, near West Speedway and North Grande Avenue.

Beltran was taken into custody by U.S. marshals Thursday on an arrest warrant, said Sgt. Maria Hawke, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.

Beltran is facing first-degree murder and was booked into the Pima County jail.

Detectives from the gang investigations unit continue working to identify other persons suspected of involvement in the shooting, Hawke said.
