A man who died after jumping into the water at Tanque Verde Falls on Sunday has been identified as a 29-year-old Tucsonan.

Richard M. Baker, was part of a group of people jumping off the cliffs and into water pools, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

The man sustained a head injury and did not immediately come back up to the surface, Deputy Tracy Suitt, a Sheriff's Department spokesman, said in a news release.

Others jumped in to pull him out, and he was unresponsive and not breathing. Bystanders performed CPR on the man until paramedics from the Rural/Metro Fire Department arrived, the release said.
