Man fatally shot in South Tucson

A 42-year-old man was fatally shot in South Tucson late Tuesday.

The shooting happened shortly after 11 p.m. near South Sixth Avenue and East 40th Street, Lt. Jeff Inorio, a South Tucson Police Department spokesman said in a news release.

Officers responding to a report of gunshots found the man lying in the road with a gunshot wound to the head, the release said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name has not been released because his relatives have not been notified.

Witnesses said an altercation happened between two men before the shooting. The victim’s name has not been released because his relatives have not been notified.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the shooter.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME (882-7463).
