South Tucson police are looking for witnesses with information about a 42-year-old man found dead in an apartment Saturday night.

Around 11:20 p.m. police were flagged down by a person who gave them information about a dead body in an apartment.

Police found the door to the apartment in the 2200 block of South Fourth Avenue slightly open and when they went in they found the man lying on the floor with a gunshot wound, Lt. Jeff Inorio, a spokesman for the South Tucson Police Department said in a news release.

The man appeared to be dead for several hours, the release said.

Police have not released the name of the man until next of kin is notified.

Anybody with information about the homicide is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME (882-7463).
