A man is in custody after he was connected to a string burglaries that occurred in a midtown neighborhood this afternoon, police said.

Police responded to a home in the 2800 block of North Torino Avenue, near East Glenn Street and North Swan Road, at about 2 p.m. after officers received a burglary call, said Sgt. Maria Hawke, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.

While police were at the home, officers received another call of burglary in the same neighborhood, Hawke said.

When a officer went outside, he saw a woman yelling for help and later found a man at her home.

Officers took the man into custody and determined that four homes in the neighborhood were burglarized.

A SWAT team responded to help police search one of the homes and to make sure no other suspects were inside.

There was a report that firearms might be inside the home, but police have not determined if there’s anything in the house.
