During a fight between two groups Tuesday morning in midtown, one man fired multiple shots, leaving another man dead, police said.

Paul David Lauderdale, 32, was killed, Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said in a news release.

At about 9 a.m., two groups of men — three or four in each group — had a confrontation in a parking lot on South Craycroft Road at East 26th Street. People scattered as shots were fired. “It’s a running situation,” Dugan said.

When officers arrived, they found Lauderdale with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

No arrests have been made, but Dugan said: “We have some people detained. We’re trying to find out who’s involved and who isn’t.”
