A man linked to several bank robberies — including one in Tucson — was arrested this morning, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department says.

Elias Freig, 31, was arrested about 6:30 a.m. at his home in the 9400 block of North Sammy Avenue, near West Linda Vista Boulevard and North Hartman Road, Deputy Thomas Peine said in a news release.

The county, Tucson police and the FBI worked together in the probe that led to the arrest of Frieg. He’s been linked to three robberies in Pima County including a heist on Dec. 23 at the Chase Bank at 8360 North Thornydale Road, one within the Tucson city limits and two more in Phoenix, the release said.

Freig was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of robbery.
