About 2,300 pounds of marijuana was found inside a tractor-trailer rig crossing from Mexico through a Nogales port of entry Friday, according to Customs and Border Protection officials.

The 99 bundles of pot, hidden among a shipment of jalapeño peppers, were worth more than $1 million.

The rig's driver, a 27-year-old man from Nogales, Sonora, whose name was not made public, was arrested and turned over to federal authorities.

The marijuana, jalapeños and the rig were seized.
