A masked man robbed a Chase Bank in Oro Valley Tuesday, and left with an undetermined amount of cash before officers arrived, authorities said.

Shortly before 5 p.m., Oro Valley Police officers were dispatched to the bank, 12925 N. Oracle Road, to a report of a bank robbery in progress, said Lt. Kara Riley, an Oro Valley Police Department spokeswoman.

When officers arrived, they learned the man had approached a teller and demanded money. No weapon was seen or implied, Riley said.

The man left the bank and was seen running west. He was described as a white man who was 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed about 170 pounds, said Riley.

The robber had black disheveled hair and was wearing a straw hat. He wore a long-sleeved white undershirt with a dark T-shirt on top, blue jeans and gloves.

Anyone with information about the man can call 911, 88-CRIME or the Oro Valley Police Department at 229-4900.
