Tucson police arrested two men suspected of robbing a midtown Safeway, a department spokeswoman said Friday.

Randy Twigg, 33, and Justin Sudweeks, 32, were charged with one count each of robbery and aggravated robbery, police Sgt. Maria Hawke said.

An aggravated robbery charge is used when two or more people are thought to be involved, she said.

The charges stem from the robbery of a Safeway near North Craycroft and East Grant roads about 3:15 p.m. Thursday.

Hawke said SWAT officers went to a home on North Tucson Boulevard between Glenn and Blacklidge roads because a car linked to Sudweeks had been reported on the property.

The property owners said the car had been dumped there, and officers later arrested the men and served search warrants at other properties, she said.
