Three men have been arrested in connection with a robbery and assault where another man was stabbed in a northwest-side apartment, the sheriff's department said.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to an apartment complex in the 3200 block of West Ina Road.

There they learned that three men kicked in an apartment door and assaulted a 20-year-old man who lived there. When the man's girlfriend, 19, came out of the bedroom, she was also assaulted, according to a news release from the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

The man was stabbed several times and taken with life-threatening injuries to a trauma center. The woman refused medical treatment.

Detectives later arrested three men, who are facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and armed robbery charges.

They were identified as Richard Poulin, 21, Mark Perkins, 25, and Larry Shane Denney, 27. They were booked in the Pima County jail.
