A 45-year-old man died Sunday after crashing his motorcycle on Tucson's south side Saturday night.

Javier Rascon was riding on South Alvernon Way near East 31st Street when he lost control of his motorcycle and ran into a guardrail, Tucson police said in a news release.

He was wearing a helmet, and speeding was not believed to be a factor in the crash, police said.

Detectives from the Traffic Investigations Unit are investigating, police said.

It is the third motorcycle fatality this year.
