A Mountain View High School swimming coach was arrested Thursday and is facing five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, police said.

Bruce Rock, 49, was booked into the Pima County jail, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Rock also is the owner and operator of the Pima Aquatic Club, which rents pool time at Marana High School, Widmer said.

Earlier this month, the department’s Internet crimes against children unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about an unknown person uploading child pornography to a social-media website, said Widmer.

Investigators found that the materials were uploaded from a residence in the 8200 block of North Willow Blossom Drive, Widmer said.

The neighborhood is south of West Cortaro Farms Road and east of Interstate 10.

On Thursday, a search warrant was served at the home and the findings implicated Rock as being involved in the uploading of child pornography, Widmer said.

According to the Pima Aquatic Club website, Rock moved to Tucson in 2004, and started coaching the county league team at Northwest YMCA in 2007, building it to a USA swim team. He has coached many years as a USA head coach and at Mountain View High School, the website says.

Mountain View High School and Marana High School are in the Marana Unified School District. The district’s spokeswoman could not be reached for comment Thursday night.
