A man wanted in connection with the slaying of a man outside a Walmart in May was arrested Thursday on the city’s southeast side.

Jeremy Shane Davis, 27, was taken into custody at an apartment complex in the 500 block of South Camino Seco, said Sgt. Maria Hawke, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.

Homicide detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Davis for first-degree murder in the shooting death of Ricky Lomax, 25 at a Walmart Neighborhood Market on May 1, police said.

Lomax was shot just before 4 a.m. outside the Walmart entrance in the parking lot of the Northgate Shopping Center, on the northeast corner of East Grant Road and North Alvernon Way.

Lomax was able to walk into the 24-hour Walmart before he collapsed and died, police said.

Davis was found by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Pima County Fugitive Investigative Strike Team.
