Pinal County authorities are investigating two reported assaults in which an Oracle woman was abducted from her home during incidents weeks apart.
The 34-year-old woman on Dec. 15 reported being abducted from her front porch by three men who threw her into the bed of a pickup truck, drove into the desert and sexually assaulted her.
On Tuesday, the woman said several men dragged her from her home but ran away when a dog bit one of them. That reported assaulted happened around 6 a.m.
The woman told investigators that she was inside her house when a man appeared at the door. The man opened the door and dragged her out of the house, where he and another man physically assaulted her.
The woman said she recognized one of the men. The other man was wearing a mask, the woman told investigators.
Sheriff Paul Babeu said the woman believes it was the same men but that detectives are investigating all possibilities.
Babeu hosted a community meeting in Oracle this week to answer residents’ questions. He urged people to take precautions and said his office is investigating vigorously.
The woman was able to work with an artist to come up with a composite sketch of one of the men involved in the latest attack.
