A man struck by a car earlier this month in central Tucson died Saturday.

Robert L. Ballard, 62, died from injuries sustained April 4 when he was hit by a car at South Swan Road, just south of East Broadway, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Ballard was struck about 11:40 a.m. when he ran across Swan as a Sentra made a right turn to go north onto Swan, Widmer said.

Ballard was not in a crosswalk.

No citations were issued to the driver of the Sentra.

Ballard's death marks the 14th traffic fatality in the city this year, compared with 11 at this time last year, according to TPD records.
