Police have identified a 50-year-old man who died after being involved in a hit and run on Tucson's west side Friday night.

Daniel Cordova was struck by an SUV in the southbound lanes of Mission Road near West 36th Street shortly after 7 p.m., Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson police spokesman said in a news release.

Cordova was taken to the hospital where he died shortly after he arrived, the release said.
