The man shot and killed during an altercation last week on the south side has been identified by Tucson police as Marcus Johnson, 23.

No arrests have been made in the shooting, which also wounded a second man.

Last Thursday night, Tucson police responded to 911 calls to the 1100 block of East 32nd Street near South Park Avenue. Officers found a group of people standing in the street and a young man with a gunshot wound on the ground, according to a news release.

Rescue personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

During the investigation, police were informed that a second shooting victim, a 24-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle. Due to the severity of his wounds, he was transferred to the trauma center at University of Arizona Medical Center, where he remains, officials said.

Police believe the shootings may be gang-related. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
