A 32-year-old man was fatally shot in a south-side alley Sunday morning.

Police in the area of Sixth Avenue and Ajo Way heard several gunshots around 7 a.m. and began to drive around the area, said Sgt. Chris Widmer a Tucson police spokesman. 

They found several people in an alley in the 3900 block of South Sixth Avenue and one man had a gun shot wound to the neck, Widmer said. 

The man was taken to the hospital where he later died. 

The man's name has not been released and no suspects are in custody, Widmer said. 

The investigation is ongoing.
