Police are asking for the public’s help with any information about a man suspected of trying to lure a boy into his van near the University of Arizona Saturday.

A man in a Chevy van pulled up to the curb near the boy near Highland Avenue and Sixth Street and told the boy to get inside the van, according to a news release from the University of Arizona Police Department.

The boy walked away from the van and the man drove off northbound on Highland Avenue, the release said.

The van is white, from the late 90s, has a sliding door, tinted driver and passenger side windows, silver rims and a gold Chevy logo on the grille, the release said.

The driver is described as being in his late 30s with black, short spiky hair, a mustache and black sunglasses.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME (882-7463).
