A Tucson man who pointed a wooden rifle stock at a sheriff's deputy responding to a domestic-violence call was sentenced to three years' probation Monday.

Cody Salzman, 21, pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated assault on a police officer for the January 2013 incident.

A Pima County sheriff's deputy was called to a domestic dispute in the 6200 block of North Van Ark Road and encountered Salzman, who pointed the rifle stock at the deputy.

The deputy fired two shots at Salzman but did not strike him, and Salzman surrendered.
