Skeletal remains were discovered in the ruins of a home near Bisbee that burned to the ground, a Cochise County sheriff's spokeswoman said.

A man spotted his neighbor's burned-out home as he was passing by Saturday and called the Sheriff's Office, spokeswoman Carol Capas said.

The man wasn't sure if his neighbor was in the house. He told deputies the fire could have broken out anytime between Wednesday and Saturday.

Deputies found the remains in the burned-out home.

The Pima County Medical Examiner's Office will investigate the cause of death and try to identify the remains.
