A woman who may have stepped on the gas rather than the brakes hit a car and then crashed into this Oro Valley home, officials said.

A SUV crashed into an Oro Valley home Friday morning after the driver ran a stop sign and hit another vehicle, officials said.

A 76-year-old woman was driving a 2003 Honda CRV about 11 a.m. when she hit a 2004 Ford Escape stopped at the intersection of East Ganymede and North Cassiopeia drives, said Oro Valley Police spokeswoman Lt. Kara Riley.

The impact sent the CRV crashing into the front of a nearby home.

A woman inside the home was unhurt; neither driver was injured, officials said.

Police said the Honda driver may have stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes. The woman was cited for failure to stop.
