Two 16-year-old boys from Agua Prieta, Sonora, were arrested in separate incidents Saturday after border agents in Douglas found marijuana in the vehicles the teens were driving, officials say.
In the first case, border officers found 15 packages of marijuana hidden throughout a Chevrolet pickup truck. The marijuana weighed a total of 241 pounds and was valued at about $120,000.
A short time later, a teen driving a Ford sedan was pulled aside for an additional inspection. Officers found 74 packages of marijuana weighing a total of about 67 pounds. The marijuana was valued at about $33,000.
Both teens were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations, and the vehicles were seized.
