A man was arrested Thursday and faces sexual exploitation of a minor charges after he downloaded images and videos depicting children in sex acts, police said.

Michael Linnertz, 58, was arrested in the 3000 block of East 17th Street after police served a search warrant and found hundreds of images and videos depicting children in sex acts, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

The neighborhood is north of East 22nd Street and west of South Country Club Road.

Detectives with the Internet crimes against children unit received an anonymous tip that led investigators to Linnertz, Widmer said.

Linnertz was booked into the Pima County jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, Widmer said.
