Two Tucson men were arrested Friday in connection with separate incidents of sexual exploitation of minors, officials said.

In the first incident, Alexander Peth, 23, was arrested on suspicion of having sex multiple times with a 13-year-old Tucson girl whom he met in February while he was working as a snowboarding instructor at a Sunrise ski area, according to a search warrant issued in the case.

The girl's family went to the White Mountains ski area 230 northeast of Tucson during rodeo weekend. Her parents hired Peth to provide three days of instruction.

The girl's father "noticed that Peth had taken an apparent interest in her and was spending a lot of time with her," the warrant stated. The father "confronted Peth and advised him that (she) was only 13 years old. Peth said he understood and just enjoyed skiing with her because she was a 'good learner.'

"Unbeknownst to her parents, (the girl) exchanged personal information with Peth, and they started communicating via email," the warrant states.

The two discovered they lived near each other, the warrant states, and the girl "started making up reasons to leave the house and going to Peth's residence to have sex with him."

On March 14, the parents called police after their daughter told them she had been having sex with Peth.

During an analysis of the iPod the girl had been using to text Peth and others, police also learned she was communicating with a 20-year-old man and the girl "made references to having sexual intercourse" with him, too, the warrant stated.

Detectives assumed the girl's identity and during a text conversation with Peth, he admitted having sex with the 13-year-old, the warrant stated.

Peth was booked into the Pima County jail. He is facing three counts of sexual conduct with a minor, one count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor and one count of luring a minor for sexual exploitation, all felony offenses, Sgt. Maria Hawke, spokeswoman for the Tucson Police Department, said in a news release.

Investigators are concerned Peth may have been communicating with other girls, Hawke said. Anyone with information about inappropriate communications or relationships with Peth should call 911 or 88-CRIME.

Pornographic upload

Arrested in the second incident was Richard Braun, 50.

In January, a tip was sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about three photos depicting child sexual abuse that were uploaded to an online data storage website, Hawke said. The upload was traced to a home owned by Braun in the 1500 block of West Greenlee Street, near West Prince and North Romero roads.

At least two of the photos "appeared to be obviously child pornography," according to a search warrant.

Friday Braun was booked into jail. He is facing five felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
