A man who died after he was found with gunshot wounds inside a car Monday in a north-side neighborhood has been identified, police said Wednesday.

Henry Amado, 46, of Tucson, was found in the 200 block of East Yavapai Road, east of North Stone Avenue, after police received a 911 call shortly after 1 p.m. to check on a man “slumped over the wheel” inside a car, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman. He was found inside an orange Volkswagen hatchback.

Amado was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.

Detectives are investigating the case as a homicide.
