A man killed at a south-side park was identified as Michael Bettendorf, police said Monday.

Bettendorf, 50, was found Saturday at El Pueblo Park at 101 W. Irvington Road, police said.

A passer-by found the man with “obvious signs of trauma,” said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson police spokesman.

Police were called at about 7:45 a.m. after Bettendorf was found dead in a grassy area of the park, Widmer said.

Homicide detectives ask that anyone with information call 911 or 88-CRIME.
