The man shot and killed during an altercation last week on the south side has been identified by Tucson police as Marcus Johnson, 23.

No arrests have been made in the shooting, which also wounded a second man.

On April 4, Tucson police responded to 911 calls to the 1100 block of East 32nd Street near South Park Avenue. They found a group of people standing in the road and a young man on the ground, according to a news release.

Rescue personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

During the investigation, police were informed that a second shooting victim, a 24-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle. Due to the severity of his wounds he was transferred to the trauma center at University of Arizona Medical Center where he remains in critical condition, officials said.

Police believe the shootings may be gang-related. Anyone with information can call 911 or 88-CRIME.
