Tucson police are asking the public for help in finding a man wanted in connection for the slaying of a man outside a Walmart two weeks ago.

Homicide detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jeremy Shane Davis, 27, for first-degree murder in the shooting death of Ricky Lomax, 25, at Walmart Neighborhood Market May 1, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Davis is described as African-American and is 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and numerous tattoos on his neck and arms, Widmer said.

Lomax was shot just before 4 a.m. outside the Walmart entrance in the parking lot of the Northgate Shopping Center on the northeast corner of East Grant Road and North Alvernon Way.

Lomax was able to walk into the 24-hour Walmart before he collapsed and died, Widmer said.

Lomax, who was unarmed, had a confrontation with several men outside the Walmart and at least one of the men shot Lomax multiple times, Widmer said.

Anyone with information about Davis is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
