Authorities seized on Monday nearly 100 pounds of marijuana from a vehicle and home in Douglas and arrested three people including a Tucson woman for trafficking drugs.

A vehicle with three people inside was stopped on 10th Street in Douglas just before noon and deputies found several pounds of marijuana inside, said Carol Capas, a spokeswoman for the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department in a news release.

Deputies then obtained a search warrant for a home in the 800 block of 21st Street, and found more marijuana and a stolen rifle, the release said.

Sandra Kessinger, 66, of Tucson, 36-year-old Karla Robles of Pirtleville and 16-year-old Jesus Galaz Romero of Agua Prieta, Sonora, were arrested on suspicion of transportation and possession of marijuana, the release said.

The investigation is ongoing and could lead to more arrests.
