Two people were arrested Friday after they were connected to the slaying of a 16-year-old girl in May, police said.
Ashley Marie Antone and Emannuel Rivera, both 20, are facing second-degree murder charges in the death of Kaitlin Chico, a Tucson Police Department news release said.
Police officers found Chico, of Sacaton, in an alley May 29 in the 5400 block of East Ninth Street, near East Broadway and Craycroft Road.
On that day, Tucson police received reports of a blue 2011 Ford Focus driving erratically near East 22nd Street and Alvernon Way and with three people in the car fighting.
Police saw the car leave a neighborhood near Broadway and Craycroft and stopped it in a parking lot near the intersection.
According to police, Antone and a 20-year-old man, identified as Rivera, ran from the car, but were later found.
Antone was arrested at the time, but the Pima County Attorney's Office dismissed the case so authorities could investigate further.
Rivera was not arrested after the incident.
U.S. marshals found Antone in Pinal County and booked her into the Pinal County jail.
Rivera was arrested at a Tucson apartment complex and booked into Pima County jail.
