A 42-year-old woman died over the weekend after being found inside a burning home on Tucson's southwest side, officials say.
Stephanie Floyd was found inside the smoke-filled house after a neighbor called 911 about 11:20 p.m. Saturday. The neighbor reporting hearing an alarm and seeing light smoke coming from a house in the 1900 block of West Calle Cielo de Oro, said Capt. Jeff Langejans, a Tucson Fire Department spokesman. The home is near West Valencia and South Mission roads.
Smoke had nearly filled the house when firefighters arrived about three minutes later and began their search. Floyd was the only person found inside the house, Langejans said.
Floyd, who was unresponsive, was rushed to a hospital but died some time later, Langejans said.
The investigation was continuing Sunday.
