A jury found a woman accused of leaving the scene of a deadly car crash guilty Monday in Pima County Superior Court.

Rosanne Inzunza, 29, was charged with leaving an accident scene in May 2012 after she crashed her car. Her passenger, Bernadette Macias, 35, died.

Deputy Pima County Attorney Ashley Bock told jurors that Inzunza ignored the law requiring someone to remain at the scene of accident.

Inzunza's attorney, Robert L. Murray, argued that another motorist caused his client to lose control of her car and crash it into a tree.

He said the same man, Michael Bennett, a friend of Inzunza's, was responsible for making her leave the accident scene before police arrived.

Bennett testified he wanted to flee the scene because he was driving on a suspended license and did not have insurance.

Inzunza is scheduled for sentencing on Sept. 16.
