Seven people were displaced from three apartments after a fire Wednesday in a complex on the city's southeast-side.

No one was hurt in the fire at 3250 S. Pantano Road, said Capt. Barrett Baker, a Tucson Fire Department spokesman.

Firefighters were dispatched to the fire shortly after 5:30 p.m. after multiple 911 callers reported smoke and flames coming from the rear of one apartment, Baker said.

Heavy wind spread the fire to two other apartments, and it took 25 firefighters under 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control, said Baker.

A family of five will be assisted by the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the tenants of the other two apartments will stay with relatives, Baker said.

The cause of the fire, and a damage estimate were not known, said Baker.
