Tack sale fundraiser to benefit HEART of Tucson
HEART of Tucson, an equine-rescue organization, is having its fourth annual Tack and Collectible Sale to raise money for abused and abandoned horses.
The sale will run 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Pantano Stables Wedding Park, 4450 N. Houghton Road.
It costs about $100,000 a year to rescue, rehabilitate, feed and give medical attention to these abused and abandoned horses.

Holiday market is Saturday
at Fountain of Life church
A holiday market hosted by Fountain of Life Lutheran Church’s Lutheran Women in Mission will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, 710 S. Kolb Road.
The market is divided into various shops, including Books and Cards, Cook’s Corner, Critter Corner, General Store, Gifts to Go, Holiday Lane, Jewelry Store, Knit Shop, Quilt Shop, Secondhand Treasures, Southwest Creations, Tiny Tots and Toys and the Village Bakery.
There will be a drawing for a quilt made in the Dresden Plate pattern. Lunch will be available for purchase.

Huge flea market runs Thursday through Saturday
Desert Skies United Methodist Church, 3255 N. Houghton Road, will hold its 26th annual flea market Thursday through Saturday.
Sale merchandise covers most of 14 acres outside, plus 10,000 square feet indoors and ranges from jewelry and antiques to furniture, clothes, tools, electronics and “tons of other stuff,” according to event organizers.
Hours are 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday (which is half-price day, and bag sale day).
The event is expected to raise more than $100,000 to benefit more than 30 Tucson area charitable organizations.
About 7,000 people are expected to attend the 2½-day sale, which is free to browse.
The church will also display privately owned motor vehicles for sale, for a small fee charged only if the vehicle sells.

Vail Country Fair is
Saturday at fairgrounds
The Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce is presenting the fifth annual Vail Country Fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Pima County Fairgrounds, 11300 S. Houghton Road.
Last year more than 8,000 people attended the event. Most booths are indoors; food booths are outdoors under tents.
The event is free and open to the public. There is no charge for parking.
The fair will include entertainment, carnival games, pony rides, a petting zoo, and food, beer and things for sale.

Tucson Meadows park
to host arts and crafts sale
Tucson Meadows Mobile Home and RV Park is hosting a show and sale of handmade arts and crafts, along with a bake sale, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Tucson Meadows is at 2121 S. Pantano Road.
Coffee and doughnuts will be for sale by the Tucson Meadows Association, and there will be opportunities to win gift baskets and items donated by vendors.
Proceeds will go to Toys for Tots and breast cancer prevention and research.
