New Apostolic Church, 8282 E. Pima St., is hosting an ice cream social featuring music and crafts from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Free. 296-3902.

If you missed the last “Nature Night: Bugs and Blacklights” at Gabe Zimmerman Davidson Canyon Trailhead, here’s your chance to attend another one. From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Pima County naturalists will be on hand using blacklights to attract insects and identify and discuss them. The trailhead is at Cienega Creek Natural Preserve, 16000 E. Marsh Station Road. Bring a headlamp or flashlight. Free. 615-7855.

3. May 17

The Arizona Symphonic Winds Music in the Park kicks off at Udall Park, 7200 E. Tanque Verde Road. The community concert band directed by László Veres will present four different free evening concerts over four weeks. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. The concerts are 7-9 p.m. Free. 721-2068.
