Castlehill Country Day School will host an open house for prospective students and their families Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Explore the art show, meet the teachers and learn more about the school’s curriculum. The private school, 3225 N. Craycroft Road, serves toddlers through fifth-graders.

PCC PAIR RECOGNIZED

Two Pima Community College students are being recognized by the Tucson branch of the American Association of University Women with scholarships.

The AAUW selected Michelle Bowman, a nursing major, and Melanie Gunningham, a business management major, to receive the $500 per semester renewable Virginia Palmer Memorial Scholarship for spring 2014.

Both working mothers, the pair was selected for transitioning back into education to fulfill their personal and career goals.

HUPPENTHAL TO SPEAK AT WALDEN GROVE

State Superintendent John Huppenthal will speak at Sahuarita's newest high school this week.

Huppenthal will address students and staff at Walden Grove High School at a school assembly on Wednesday, according to a school district news release.

He will discuss the school's progress, growth and promise as one of the newer public high schools in Arizona.

Walden Grove, located at 15510 S. Sahuarita Park Road, opened in 2011.
