A longtime governor of Pima Community College is bowing out of office.

Brenda Even, who oversaw a decade of administrative neglect that led to the college being placed on probation, is not seeking another term as the District 1 representative on PCC’s Governing Board, a seat she has held since 2001.

For months, Even has kept quiet about her intentions, refusing say whether she’d run again in November. The question became moot at 5 p.m. today when the deadline passed for her to file as a candidate with the Pima County elections department.
