Hip-hop star Ludacris congratulates winner

Hip-hop artist Ludacris made a virtual appearance at a Tucson school to congratulate the winner of a classroom contest.

Students in a seventh-grade language arts/literature classroom at La Paloma Academy Tucson were competing to see who could earn the highest overall grade average over the first two quarters.

The prize was a set of Soul by Ludacris headphones. As an added bonus, Ludacris gave a special video shout- out to announce the class winner.

La Paloma teacher James Sye, who put the contest together, said it serves as a good life lesson for students: “When you work hard for things, you give yourself an opportunity for good things to happen.”
