EEF stuffing 'virtual' bus, seeks varied school items

The Educational Enrichment Foundation will collect school supplies and new clothing for TUSD students Saturday.

Help EEF stuff a "virtual" bus at its office, 3809 E. Third St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations can also be dropped off through Saturday at:

• St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, 3809 E. Third St.

• Tucson Fallas/Factory 2-U locations.

• The Office Depot, Shoe Carnival and Chick-fil-A at El Con Mall.

Suggested clothing donations include new pants, shirts, sweaters, skirts, uniforms, shoes, socks and undergarments. School items include backpacks, crayons, spiral notebooks, pencils, pens, art supplies and personal-hygiene items.

Youth On Their Own collecting school supplies

Youth On Their Own is collecting school supplies for homeless youth now through Sept. 1.

Help stuff a backpack for one of 4,000 homeless students ages 13 to 21 with paper, folders, pens, binders, pencils, calculators, tissue, hand sanitizers. Drop-off sites are at:

Sahuarita High graduate at national science camp

A Sahuarita High School graduate is representing Arizona as a delegate to the 2013 National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia, which will wrap up Saturday.

Erica Schwarz joined 121 other top science students from the U.S. and across the globe for the honors science leadership program. The delegates are attending lectures and performing hands-on studies led by top scientists.
