Students from BASIS and Sonoran Science Academy charter schools will be participating in the regional competition of the Science Bowl.

The competition, which will be held Saturday at the Arizona State University West Campus, is put on by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science.

The goal of the contest is to interest youth in pursuing careers in science and math.
