U.S. Rep Raúl Grijalva is going to ask the Pima County Attorney's Office to investigate recent attacks on a Sunnyside Unified School District board member.

Grijalva's call for an investigation was prompted by a flier distributed last week attacking the sexual orientation of Sunnyside board member Daniel Hernandez Jr.

The fliers said the Sunnyside school board needed a "real man" while noting that Hernandez is gay.

Another flier accused Hernandez of wanting take guns away from people.

Hernandez, along with board member Buck Crouch, are the targets of governing board recall drive.

Board members Louie Gonzales and Bobby Garcia, who denounced the fliers, are the focus of a separate recall drive.
