El Tour de Tucson founder Richard DeBernardis said it is too early to tell whether cyclists will be rerouted along two proposed detours to avoid water crossings along the 107-mile course this morning.

A decision was expected today at 5 a.m., but DeBernardis said he is still waiting on more information on the depth of water flowing through the Santa Cruz River as well as Sabino Creek, two areas where an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 competitive cyclists were expected to cross this morning.

A decision will be made in the next few hours, DeBernardis said.
