A fire damaged a pool building in a east-side neighborhood Wednesday night.
Several people called 911 to report seeing smoke coming from building in the Terra Del Sol neighborhood around 9:20 p.m., Capt. Barrett Baker, a Tucson fire spokesman said in a news release.
Crews arrived five minutes later and forced their way into the pool area through a wrought iron security door and opened the door to the boiler room where they put out flames, the release said.
A ladder company cut a hole in the roof of the building with a chainsaw allowing the smoke to clear and helping increase visibility, the release said.
Pop up tents, swimming pool covers and tables that were stored in the room were too close to the boiler, which caused the fire, the release said.
