The Arizona Fisher House fundraising committee has collected $750,000 toward its $3 million goal.

The Maryland-based Fisher House Foundation plans to open a facility near the South Sixth Avenue entrance of the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System campus. A Fisher House is a place where veterans’ families can stay on the hospital campus while veterans receive medical care.

The foundation plans to donate $3 million to match local fundraising and would like to start construction in March on a facility with at least 12 private suites and a shared kitchen, living room and laundry room.

Major donors include the Arizona Department of Veterans Services, Jim Click and Vantage West, said fundraising committee chairman Dana Staggs.

Donate online at arizonafisherhouse.org or send donations to Arizona Fisher House, 8140 S. Houghton Road, Suite 130, Tucson, AZ 85747.
