It was a battle to the yummiest Sunday at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort as two popular Tucson chefs competed in the fourth annual Copper Chef Challenge.

Jeff Fuld, of Elle Wine Country Restaurant, went up against Jim Murphy of Bluefin Seafood Bistro and Kingfisher Bar and Grill.

Murphy successfully defended his 2008 win to become the 2009 Copper Chef as well.

Guests arrived to the challenge ready to eat and drink while watching the two chefs duke it out in a timed cook-off.

At the beginning of the competition, tomatoes were revealed as a mandatory ingredient for the chefs to use in all their dishes.

While the two chefs went to work, guests socialized over a brunch that included barbecue, salads, appetizers, desserts, pastries and traditional brunch fare. A live band played blues as they dined.

The Copper Chef Challenge was one part of the annual Tucson Culinary Festival, which is in its seventh year.

The festival aims to raise money for the Community Food Bank, Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault, New Beginnings for Women and Children and Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation.

Other festival events included world margarita championships, a Milagro tequila lunch and a seminar on grilling with sugar and spice.
