Pianist will perform at Norwegians event
The November meeting of Norwegians Worldwide of Tucson will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lutheran Church of the Foothills, 5102 N. Craycroft Road, at East Territory Drive.
The program will be a piano concert performed by Alexander Tentser, who will play several selections by Scandinavian composers.
Tentser is a concert pianist, chamber music collaborator and conductor. He began studying piano at the age of 4 with his father in Kiev, Ukraine. He was accepted at the Ukraine State School for Gifted Children sponsored by the Kiev Conservatory, according to information provided by Norwegians Worldwide of Tucson.
After a highly acclaimed performance of Grieg's Piano Concerto at the age of 12, he was recommended for studies at Moscow's Gnessin Music College, the oldest music college in the country.
Tentser directs the Pima Community College Orchestra, producing a variety of programs including the works of Baroque, classical, and modern composers. He teaches at Pima and at Cochise College in Sierra Vista.
Tentser has appeared as a pre-concert lecturer for several UAPresents performances.

Join walk, plus talk, Sat. along Rillito
Thanksgiving and the holidays are just around the corner, so consider getting a jump on holiday resolutions by starting a new exercise regimen this Saturday morning at Rillito River Park.
Dr. Elizabeth Kronlage will lead walkers on one- and two-mile strolls as part of Just Walk, a Walk With a Doc Program.
Kronlage will start with a brief discussion on "Taking the Time to be Mindful."
Carondelet Health Network is presenting this walk.
Walkers should arrive at the park, on the east side of the Swan Bridge, south bank, between 7:45 and 7:55 a.m. The lecture and walk will begin at 8.
