"Western Vistas," a solo show featuring the paintings and sculptures of Marcia Broderick, will be on exhibit Saturday through Feb. 28 in the gallery at the Kirk-Bear Canyon Library, 8959 E. Tanque Verde Road.

Voted 2012 Artist of the Year by the Southern Arizona Art Guild during her first year in Tucson, Broderick draws inspiration from the Southwest, painting and sculpting Western themes with a focus on the animals of Arizona.

Since moving to Tucson from the Pacific Northwest, Broderick often spends days with her subjects painting or sculpting en plein air (outdoors).

Broderick has worked as a designer, lead artist, game artist and educational content developer for Microsoft, IBM, Edmark, River-deep and PopCapGames.

You can meet the artist at the opening reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

View the exhibit during library hours: 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
