St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church observes the feast day of its patron saint in early May each year.

This year's celebration, on Sunday, will feature special music at the church's two morning services and a fiesta in the plaza beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The fiesta will include games, races, face painting, a dunk tank and a build-your-own taco bar for lunch.

The public is invited. The cost for the fiesta is $7 per person ($20 per family), payable at the event.

Proceeds will support St. Philip's J2A youth group pilgrimage to Taize, France, and Canterbury, England, in the summer of 2014.

Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Proceeds from beverage sales will support the music program at St. Philip's.

St. Philip's 9 and 11:15 a.m. services will feature Francis Poulenc's master work Gloria for soprano solo, choir and orchestra. Woosug Kang, St. Philip's director of music, will conduct the St. Philip's Singers, the Canterbury Choir and the Canterbury Choir Apprentices (a group of youths whose voices have changed), accompanied by St. Philip's Chamber Orchestra, composed of Tucson musicians.

Mary Paul, a staff singer at St. Philip's, will be the featured soloist. The services are free, but donations are accepted.

Sunday also marks the annual visit of the Rt. Rev. Kirk Stevan Smith, bishop of Arizona, to St. Philip's. Confirmations will be celebrated at the 11:15 a.m. service, and incense (hypoallergenic charcoal) will be used.

St. Philip's is at 4440 N. Campbell Ave. at East River Road. Parking is available in the north parking lot or under the solar covered parking structure on the east side. The office phone is 299-6421.
